Rooted in the fragility of girlhood, progressing into the power of womanhood. Limited by the world around, the female is so often pigeonholed, limited, controlled, constricted. Yet the female persists. The woman finds beauty in her circumstance and comes out on the other side. Her strength - in motherhood, in choice in nurture in nature - will never be stifled.
Each hand placed grommet serves as a scar on the fabric. A lasting mark from the surrounding world. Yet each grommet laces together to create something new, something beautiful. An elegant yet constricting design culminating in a delicately hanging bow.
Boned with steel and joined by lacing, this collection explores Elements of child like imagination and play alongside constriction and control. this collection is an ode to the journey of a girl. The power of the woman, who can overcome. Who can make beauty where there is pain and radiate joy where there is heartbreak. The woman is not controlled by her circumstance, she controls her own fate. Her beauty lies in the perfectly imperfect, her beauty lies in the power of persistence.
